Japan can become the next-generation welfare society.

Japan has so much potential. A culture of healthy living, eating and community. Traditions are being kept alive, which strengthens ties to the past, which can be used when exploring the future. A culture of honesty and earnestness. All these things, combined with digital technology in meaningful ways that respects lived life, is what can sustain existing industries and communities, as well as build new ones.

Public Intelligence is a Danish company with a Japanese subsidiary in Kobe, that works together with citizens, companies and governments to make better services and solutions.

We believe that society should enable people to thrive, and that companies and local governments are well situated to support this through their activities. Denmark is in some aspects a good model society to look at for inspiration. There is a high degree of meaningful digitization, which supports people to seamlessly obtain the right information at the right time. There is a healthy working culture, and an educational system that supports critical thinking and curiosity. All this leads to a society which is consistently ranking high in world happiness rankings. Japan should not be Denmark. 日本は日本らしい幸福社会の実現を目指すべき. And we believe we can help with that through our experiences in working with smarter health and welfare services in Denmark.

This seminar will give a 40 minute tour of what is happening in Denmark within the fields of digital health (health tech), digital public service (govtech) and design, and how all this come together to support citizen’s lives.
